He ended up making me a beta tester and I found a lot of things that needed fixed. After a couple months later, the update is finally available and is so much better than what they'd released all the way back in June.Crying is not Enough puts you in the hands of Jacob Helten, after a serious car accident with his wife: Claire. The game starts off with him having a nightmare and then waking up in a panic. He's then told to make way to the hospital as something has happened to Claire. Upon arriving, he finds out that she's mysteriously disappeared from the hospital with little information about the situation to offer. A mysterious woman then tells Jacob to go with her as she might be affiliated with Claire in some way. Jacob follows her onto a helicopter where they have a small discussion before they find out the helicopter's been rigged with an explosive then blows up and crashes on an island. This game may not be your cup of tea as it is far from being AAA (it was literally developed by two people). But in my own opinion, it's really scary and fun in its own way. Not to mention it is heavily inspired by Resident Evil 2. You can easily tell by the OST and some of the level design that it definitely is.I recommend this game because it's fun. And I think you should give it a try.. I have been waiting for this game since its announcement, and yesterday, I bought it. It is extremely interesting, but there are just some performance issues that need updating. It runs well, but there is some lag, it needs updating, and there are some bugs that need to be fixed. I will buy the game again, after some time for it to be updated and run a little more smoothly. I was so sad the game ran with the problems it had, but I am still very hopeful it will be fixed. This game is a great idea, and the monsters are cool looking to, but in the meantime I will just wait and see if it gets these bugs adressed.. Tagged as a survival horror because you have to survive the horror of nearly 30 minutes of poorly animated and badly scripted cut scenes, before the game truly begins. You can check out these nightmare scenes in my first impressions video.https://youtu.be/bbE1i17CIF0Couple these unskippable cut scenes with numerous loading screens and you have one of the worst openings to a survival horror game I’ve ever experienced. The developers apparently spent five years working on this so there’s no excuse for this shoddy introduction. Did they not test this at all? When you finally get to the gameplay things don’t get any better, with a very uneven frame rate, stuttering and even freezing. The camera is also pretty terrible and can occasionally clip through the player character. This makes combat difficult especially when enemies get up close. When you add poor FOV, fast enemies,♥♥♥♥♥♥frame rate and floaty aim, the combat becomes a confusing chore. You aren’t given a map and there are no objective markers (or objectives) either, so you’ll have no idea where to go or what you’re meant to be doing. This game clearly wasn’t ready for release and whilst it evokes some nostalgia for classic survival horror games through its visuals, the gameplay and story actually take a huge step back. There are lots of third person survival horror games on Steam, many of them cheaper than this. I wouldn’t even recommend this if you’ve exhausted all the good titles because it’s just not fun to play. When the scariest thing about your horror game is the chore of actually having to play it, you’ve probably ♥♥♥♥ed up.. Hands down this is one of the best indie game ive played so far. Deep atmosphere, creepy scenery and some evil looking monsters! One of the few, true survival horror games out there, where you have to manage your ammo and your heal items. The crates is a very nice addition to the whole package.Respect guys for fixing it! Also the ending left me hanging!. Features:- Horribly slow load times. - Frequent load times.- Horrible voice acting- Bad collision boxes- Annoyingly limited ammo (to the point the game almost can't be played)- Falling out of bounds on accident- Clipping through doors that lead to nowhere and being unable to get out without restarting- Losing the ability to run randomly, and having to restart the game to fix.- Randomly dying during cutscenes after you haven't saved in awhile and then dealing with a slow load time- Randomly being unable to use save points- Not being able to attempt to enter a password again if you didn't get it the first time. Content behind the door is important.- Horrible aiming mechanic.- Goofy animations- Terrible sound design (except for the arcade, which is gold)- Other stuff I cant think of off the top of my head.Overall, 10/10 well worth the money.
